Vanessa Mc Fadden

Musical theatre (Early years) Mondays 3.00pm – 9.00pm

Drama aims to develop confidence, self-esteem, verbal communication skills and creativity. All students attend a one-hour lesson each week during the school year. Classes include warm up activities, speech work, mimes to music, short scripted pieces, creative improvisations, and whole class plays . The lessons are great fun!

In this fast-moving world, many children are learning to communicate by text, email and social networking and, because of this, they may lack the essential talking skills necessary for them to speak up with confidence. Success in later life is often dependent on our development as a child. Building sound verbal communication skills in the early years is paramount to unlocking the world in which we live. Releasing a child’s creative and expressive potential through drama is key to a child’s healthy development.

Drama also helps children, indirectly, with reading, writing and listening skills as well as aiding concentration and developing a colourful imagination.”
